Q: What is the cancellation policy?
A. For our Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, Baseball Games, Museums, Concerts, Zoo and other cultural activities- Cancellations made within 7 days of the event will incur a processing fee of $35 per ticket. Unfortunately, we cannot issue any refunds or credits for same-day cancellations or cancellations made within 1-6 days.
A. REGULAR SPEED DATING/Mingles: You can get a refund for regular speed dating events or mingles if you let us know at least 5 business days before the event. There's a $7.00 processing fee per ticket, though. If you cancel 2-4 days before, you can get credit towards another event. Just remember, we can't issue refunds or credit for same-day.
Q: Can I get a refund or credit if I get sick at the last minute?
A: We totally get it - sometimes things come up unexpectedly! However, at this time we're unable to issue refunds or credits for same-day cancellations. It's similar to having Broadway tickets and needing to cancel last minute - there are a limited number of seats available for each event. We work hard to maintain the right balance of genders at our speed dating events, so availability may open and close based on that.
Q: If I lie about my age, will you really not let me participate? Do you seriously check for proof of age?
A.
For all of our cultural/activity events, there is no proof of age required. Proof of age only applies to a regular speed dating event.
A: At JewishDatingNYC.com, we believe in treating our customers right. That's why we've got a two- (and sometimes three-) year grace period on age for most of our speed dating events. We hear horror stories all the time about people getting lied to and feeling ripped off at other Jewish speed dating events. But not here. When you sign up with us, you can be sure that you're going to get authentic age groups and the highest quality experience.
But speaking of honesty, let's be clear: if you lie about your age, you can't participate. Sorry. But we promise that the real deal is going to be so much better anyway!
Q: Why are the guys ages higher than the ladies for some of your events? That is Ageist!
A: Our activity/cultural events events are
typically open to all ages and not meant to be gender balanced.
A. For speed dating- We hear you - and my personal opinion is that it is unfair. In an ideal world, age wouldn't be a factor. But based on our conversations, 80% of men are typically interested in dating women who are younger, while 50% of women want to date older men. So we've structured our age brackets to reflect that. We've even tried holding speed dating events where everyone is in the same age range, but sadly, the turnout wasn't great. However, we do offer non-speed dating events that are open to all ages, or where the age groups are balanced. Hope that helps!
Q: Is JewishDatingNYC.com a Dating Service?
A: We're not your typical dating service that costs a fortune. Instead, we organize fun activity and social events where you can enjoy unique experiences together. Our pay-per-event system keeps it simple.
Q: Can I just show up at the door or must I reserve?
A: Our Jewish speed dating events require a reservation as we need to maintain a pretty equal gender balance of men and women. If you just show up at the door without reservaing, there is no guarantee that a space will be available.
Q: For Speed Dating, how many dates will I have?
A: We guarantee a miniumum number of 7 speed dates. If for any reason you meet less than that amount, your next event would be compimentary. The maximum number of dates could be around 12, but we have gone as high as 16 at times.
Q: I have other questios, how can I contact someone?
A: Call Jay at 718-757-6933 and I would be happyt o answer any questions.
Q: What venues do you hold events at?
A: Our Jewish Speed dating and Singles events currently take place in Manhattan at Bryant Park Lounge and The Placery Bar. Additional venues will be added soon.
Q: Are the events held based on level of Jewish observance? Unless specifcally noted, our Jewish Speed dating and Singles events are open to anyone who identifies as being Jewish and are not broken down based on the level of Jewish practice. A:
